So finally, this day had to come. I got as a gift, my first personalized shirt with The Spoiled Queen inscription. Now I can advertise my blog around Budapest by just wearing a simple, black shirt. Can you imagine better marketing?.

Who was behind this gift? Of course, our irreplaceable Think Boutique. If you are looking for unique hand made cards, home decorations, flower bouquets or some cool pattern on your laptops or even a computer mouse, there is no better place in Budapest, than this online boutique. Recently, they extended their portfolio which resulted in this beautiful shirt. When you look at the print, with this little cute fairy and all those gold, sparkling dots scattered around the back, you get a feeling that there is some magic in it.

We had a photo shoot in the heart of VII district, which is also called Jewish Quarter. Kazinczy utca, which is part of this Quarter, is one of the most well known streets in Budapest. What is so special about this place? Actually everything. Starting with the most significant cultural sigh – Orthodox Synagogue (Kazinczy utca 29-31), build in 1912 according to the design of the Löffler brothers.

This Synagogue gathers Budapest’s orthodox Jewish community. They can be usually spotted during Shabbat, which starts before the sunset on Friday evening, until Saturday night.

The spoiled queen4If you wish to to know more about Jewish culture and community, you should visit Kazimir house (Kazinczy utca 34), which is a new information center along with budget friendly Kazimír bistro. Just a stone throw away from this place, you will be able to find a kosher restaurant – Carmel (Kazinczy utca 31), serving typical Jewish dishes like Cholent with Smoked Meat or Israeli Plate with Matbucha and Humus. Going further you can step by in Kőleves, which is  a two-story bar and restaurant with a garden (Kazinczy utca 37-41). This place is visited by many people – locals blend with foreigners and I can ensure you that food there is just delicious. Amazing vibe of Kőleves garden attracts a lot of people – during the summer it might be very hard to find a free spot there.

But Kazinczy utca is the most famous due to its ruin bars and night life. This street is usually packed after the sunset, as there are several good spots to have a drink or various outdoor places where you can party. Starting from 400 bar, where you can taste Mediterranean cuisine, attend various exhibitions or concerts (Kazinczy utca 52/b). Just few meter away you can try Mexican dishes, play table tennis attend live concert all of this is offered by Ellátó Kert (Kazinczy utca 48). If you are an electronic party freak, you definitely need to visit Tesla club, which offers various gigs (Kazinczy utca 21/C). It is pretty new place but already quite popular. You can not only party there but also grab a drink outdoor. All fashion conscious people shall visit Kék Ló Fashion Pub (Kazinczy utca 11). You can have a drink, grab something to eat and do a little shopping too. Really well designed clothes and accessories. This is really artistic and cozy place, surely one of my favorite in Kazinczy street.

You definitely can not leave this quarter without visiting El Rapido Bar (Kazinczy utca 37-41). This place is already a legend. The best cheap Mexican fast food, which for the first time I had a pleasure to taste in 2009! After all night of crazy drinking, there is nothing better to get some delicious burrito or quesadilla.

Those are pretty much the best places I can recommend you in Jewish Quarter. But since this is such a lively spot on Budapest map, you should not be surprised when you discover more of the cool bars or outdoor places. VII district is like a rainbow of Budapest where different cultures merge.

If you have already been in one of the mentioned places or maybe you happen to visit other ones, by chance, share your experiences in the comment field.
