My post about furniture stores created a sensation. I think many people who live in Hungary (and mostly in Budapest) have quite big problem with finding suitable pieces for their home. I mentioned in my previous post, that there are not so many options here, in terms of design and friendly prices.
Today I would like to focus more on home decor items, which make your home feel new again. Since I am planing to change a bit my bedroom, I am intensively looking for new curtains, cushions, little carpet and plants. Would be also nice to hang something cool on my wall.
Where to shop?
If you are looking for very modern piece of design with Scandinavian beat, I would definitely suggest you to visit IDdesign (Törökbálint, Tópark u.). It’s not really a budget friendly place but there are several sales per year, so there is a big chance you can hunt something for lower price. I love their lamps! Great design and pretty big choice. From very modern to classic ones. They have also good selection of paintings and wall stickers.
Do you need some plants in your house? How about vintage flower pots? Repertory, located at Alagút utca 4, tops my list. I just got few cactus (have quite different shape than the average cactus I saw so far) but you can find there little home items and designer clothes/jewellery as well.

If you need more fancy flowers or decoration, which has a bit of glam, then you should visit Laura Virág flower shop, in the city center (Király utca 28) . This place offers seasonal decoration as well, but also various cups and little kitchen accessories.

Speaking about home accessories, I bet there is no better place in Budapest, than Flying Tiger (Váci utca 22). This Scandinavian chain offers million useful home items with original designs and color palette. Many kitchen and desk items, little decorations and little home accessories. You can buy just few things there and easily boost the look of your room or kitchen.
But my number one home decor store in Budapest is Home Therapy! When I am entering this place I do feel I am going through some therapy. Nothing relax me more, than admiring super unique pieces, starting from plates, cups with Spanish and Middle Eastern design, many beautiful hand made blankets, cushion pillow cases plus unlimited decoration (Provencal style). This little place is located at Kis Diófa u. 11.
