Do you play the guitar or the violin? Are you a singer? There is one place in Budapest which can welcome you with open arms! 10 Sixty-Six Bar has recently opened at Ó utca 37 and it’s one of those long awaited spots in the city which support amazing local and expat musicians. Every Saturday you can come and listen to live music or you can be one of the artists. Their Saturday event featuring an absolutely fantastic Sufi singer and guitar player Arif Erdem Ocak and guys from CODIAC  was like a breath of fresh air. After months of me struggling with boring events in the city I finally found something that fed my soul and made me genuinely happy.

The interior of 10 Sixty-Six is rather clean with great dim lights and a massive wooden bar. The walls look still super fresh and quite plain and hopefully will be decorated soon with some great illustrations to add a bit of sparkle to the place. This place serves interesting drinks with the newest flavor of Unicum (Hungarian, national treasure) plus Happy hour from 7-9 when one beer or cider is just 300 huf and vodka-lime soda only 500 huf , no chance you find cheaper drinks in town!

For some unknown reasons our Saturday event was extended and continued in a place next door: Retox Bar – a bar and a hostel in one. Smike, one half of CODIAC duo, let us follow him through the magic wardrobe (The Chronicles of Narnia – anyone read that as a kid?) and kindly allowed us to stay in his kingdom where magic happens. Surrounded by loads of candles and with a proper amount of alcohol those three guys just jammed. They not only gave a fantastic show but also created such an intimate atmosphere that for a moment we felt we were just part of it.  You should definitely check my Instagram post where I posted one of their songs.

I strongly encourage you to visit 10 Sixty-Six bar and follow above artists. I have the feeling they gonna make a lot of noise in the city and I already like it.
