We’re in peak wedding season, and honestly? Every Saturday feels like fashion week.

I get a free runway show just by passing the Iglesia metro entrance (conveniently next to the church). It’s giving couture meets Catholic tradition, and I’m all in!

Dressing for a Spanish wedding is a whole different level of fashion. If you don’t show up looking sharp, elegant, and expensive, there’s a real chance you’ll offend the couple. No joke.

Recently, I had a client preparing for a wedding in a few weeks, and we’ve already begun the intense hunt for the perfect dress. The mission? Elegant. Powerful. Polished.

So what are women actually wearing to weddings in Madrid?

Day weddings:

👉 Structured midi dresses in bold or jewel tones

👉 Fascinators or wide-brim hats, especially for misa or garden ceremonies

👉 Pointed heels — slingbacks, stilettos, or fancy mules

👉 Minimalist clutches, statement earrings, a polished bun or glossy blow-dry

👉 Fabrics like satin, crepe, or jacquard, nothing too boho unless it’s super high-end

Evening weddings:

👉 Long or cocktail dresses in sleek cuts or architectural shapes

👉 Less hats, more glam — red lips, cool metallics, sleek ponytails

👉 Always heels, often designer

There’s also this fabulous trend of flamenco-inspired silhouettes, ruffled necklines, oversized flowers, dramatic draping. Color is embraced, and jewelry? Bold, tasteful, and often massive.

It’s all very old money meets modern pija.

If you’re a wedding guest and don’t know where to shop, feel free to reach out.

I’ve spent the last few weeks scouting the best boutiques in Madrid with dresses for all body types, plus shoes and accessories curated for every style.

So tell me: what’s your go-to wedding guest look?
