Don’t you think that men are a bit unprivileged in the fashion world? Whenever you visit popular stores in big malls, you can easily notice, that 3/4th of space is occupied by woman section and the leftover is devoted to men’s one. What is the reason? Is it possible that Men do not care about fashion trends? Do they like using the same pair of jeans or some sort of sweaters for many years, unless they get old and worn out?

I happened to visit male sections pretty often, especially when I used to live in the United States and somehow, I got a feeling that the quality of male clothing is better than woman’s, but prices are also higher. Is it because manufacturers are convinced that a man visits  the store only a couple times per year and if he buys something, he is willing to spend huge amount of cash? I believe it’s partially true, but on the other hand, I think, they just don’t visit stores frequently due to lack of choices.

Obviously, there are plenty of stores which offer basic and genuine clothes for men like standard jeans, sweaters, jumpers or hoodies, but most of them are just ordinary without any cool prints or cuts. There is always a problem with shoes, and this is the first thing I am paying attention to, while checking out some guy. He can be ugly like hell, but if he wears trendy shoes, I would already like him. And here, we have some discrepancy. While a woman get a variety of options, such as: ballerinas, sandals, platforms, wedges, high heel shoes, boots, ankle boots and million others, what is the choice for a man? Snickers, flat shoes, some winter boots? Have you ever paid attention to how they look? Usually very massive, with ugly crests. In my opinion, considering all well-known brands, the best offers so far are offered by Vagabond (if you need classy shoes/boots), Converse or New Balance (if you need sporty designs).

And now my favorite question, how many of you see men accessories in the stores? Basically, I should start my questions by asking: what type of accessories are men looking for? Bags, scarves, phone/notebook case? Maybe trendy hats/broaches??? And how about JEWELLERY? I think men do not wear it, why? Because I do not see any offers for them in any of the shops! Unless they are able to create their own necklaces/earrings and so on. At this point all men who are reading this post, could think about committing suicide already, but no worries boys, there is still a hope for you. Especially for those who live in Budapest, or at least planing to move here. In this and some of my future posts, I am going to provide you with the list of best clothing stores, where you can find trendy pieces for yourself.

Let’s start with Retrock, located in the city center (Anker köz 2), which is the biggest vintage&designer store in Budapest.

Store offers not only a variety of vintage clothes such as trendy coats, old school shoes or wool sweaters, but has also several local designers in his portfolio. All fans of cycling, will definitely find suitable clothes here and Urban Legend label, is going to help them. This brand specializes in urban cycling apparel and all pieces are made of high quality fabrics, which surely help you feel comfortable while cycling.

If you are looking for some woolen sweaters with funny print, this place meets your expectation, but what really caught my eyes was a shelf with different types of shoes with really great designs also a variety of vintage backpacks and male’s bags.

To my misfortune there is a big section of woman clothes and a huge variety of floral dresses and skirts.

Don’t you think it’s adorable?

Oh sorry, I forgot that I promised to write ONLY about male clothing. This store deserves a mandatory visit, while you are in Budapest. If you wish to check their collection or get the latest news, follow them on Facebook or visit their website.

Another favorite of mine as a vintage store is Szputnyik (I have already mentioned it on my blog), which offers “fashion from the past and style from the future”.

You will be able to find everything from vintage and retro to contemporary custom designs, in this store. There is a great variety of t-shirts with really cool prints made out of high quality cotton plus different types of sweatshirts and jackets.

If you are looking for some stylish outfits for madcaps parties, this is a perfect store for you. With a variety of unique vintage pieces, you will rule the party.

Szputnyik offers a lot of backpacks and male bags as well, which would finally let you store your personals in one place.

If you looking for some unique and really trendy pair of shoes, there is no better store in Budapest, than Cargomoda, located at Wesselényi ut 33.

Those shoes have a real Spanish soul, made out of leather and 100% natural fabric giving you chic and comfort at the same time.

You will get an inspiration from Barcelona and San Francisco, especially when you are checking accessories. The store offers a nice variety of very elegant, retro hats and other sophisticated stuff.

A wide choice of colorful socks tops my list! Italy comes to my mind right away when I look at them.
